the hum of the refrigeration, and the buzz in the lights, and the drum from the sink, this half-eaten old fashioned staring back at me

styrofoam cups barely insulate from stale air, while the strip road moves hastily w/o care, with most the case empty, and the evening soon here, unwelcoming to the night, until dawn the sweetness will appear
